Harper to re-introduce C-61 copyright reform

Hat tip to Saskboy’s post which reminded me to post about this.

A couple days ago I read on CBC that Harper plans to re-introduce his copyright reform if he’s elected. Harper claims that his legislation “strikes the appropriate balance among the rights of musicians, artists, programmers and other creators and brings Canada’s intellectual property protection in line with that of other industrialized countries, but also protects consumers who want to access copyright works for their personal use.” This is not what bill C-61 did and Canadians made that clear to Harper over the summer. Why does Harper want to bring this back to the table and take away Canadians’ digital rights?

Don’t let Harper’s Conservatives into Ottawa again; protect your digital freedom!
