Elizabeth May – “not in a million years”
Jack Layton – “We can’t support a budget that gets the priorities so wrong.”
This budget hurts the unemployed, the environment, and the economy. Shame.

When I woke up to the radio this morning I heard quite the interesting Conservative attack ad. Harper’s ad was attacking Dion directly. The ad attacked the environmental levies that the Liberals have proposed in connection to the recent economic turmoil which Harper’s government has failed to do anything about. The ad complained of more taxes and that taxes are the last thing Canada needs right now.
What the ad failed to mention is all of the income tax breaks that the Liberals are suggesting. ALL of the imposed taxes will be offset by tax cuts. I urge you to go to thegreenshift.ca and learn for yourself the proposed Liberal plan. Don’t listen to Harper’s lies.
Harper recently told Canada that we are economically sound. He told Canadians that “Canada is not the United States” when trying to explain that the US crisis would not have a big lasting effect on Canada.
Today, news was released that Canada is headed for a bad recession, lasting until potentially 2010.
Today, Harper is saying “We’re not an island” and touting that we should have expected this to happen. He is proposing a buyout plan should he get elected. It was obvious to most Canadians this would happen almost a month ago. Why is Harper flip-flopping? Is the economy sound or not Mr Harper??
“The fundamentals of our economy are strong.” – John McCain, Sept 15, Black Monday.
“The fundamentals of our economy are strong.” – Steven Harper, Oct 1, translated from the French debates.
Harper continued to re-emphasise his position on the economy on Oct 2 during the English debates. If this is so true, then why Harper, why did the TSX have it’s biggest drop since the 2000 bust on Oct 3?
Why bother electing Harper for Prime Minister? It’s obvious he’s just going to mindlessly copy everything McCain does anyways. Might as well elect McCain in Canada!
